I deem it a rare privilege and immense pleasure in extending my hearty thanks to all of you for having provided your fullest co-operation and support in the growth and the development of Teacher Education in Tamil Nadu. Teachers are the Nation builders and are considered to be the pillars of a developing country. ”A teacher’s purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image”. It is said that “in the second decade of the 21st century, Teacher Education has an enormous role to play in the social, intellectual and political transformation of the world”.Hence, professional teacher preparation is the need of the hour. My vision is to prepare quality teachers suitable to future needs of Tamil Nadu. Therefore, I solemnly solicit all your earnest co-operation in maintaining the quality and standard in teacher preparation. In order to endorse the veracity of the necessary requirements and facilities as per norms, available in colleges of Education to maintain quality and standard in preparing professional teachers, I am planning to arrange for periodical visit to all the colleges of education. If any deviation is observed or reported from the prescribed norms, that college’s recognition would immediately be cancelled without any prior notice and this is for your kind information.
